How do I get the @ sign

On a new computer how do I get the @ sign? its coming out as ' there is a setting but cant remember.

If you have a UK Keyboard, the doublequote should be shift+2, whereas if you have a US keyboard, this should be the @ symbol. You need to select the correct language to match your keyboard as follows:

Start/Settings/Control Panel
Regional and Language Options
Select the Languages tab and click Details
Ensure that the appropriate keyboard (US or UK) is installed and if not, add it.
Then set it as the default (where it says "Select one of the installed input languages to use when you start your computer").

It was done on another computer because I could not sign into messenger.
