Black screen on TV
7 Answers
I have a standard sized portable TV which is about 7 years old but has never been over used or abused. When I turned it on last night the screen was almost completely black on all channels, you could see outlines of things and the sound was perfect but that was it.
It is connected to a video through leads and a dvd player through a scart, and the only time I could get a clear picture was when I put the DVD player on.
It is not a problem with the brightness etc being turned up or down too far, and I can't understand how it could be a problem with the TV if the DVD picture is fine. I pulled out all the aerial leads and reconnected but nothing helped.
Has anyone any ideas as to what could be wrong or how to fix the problem?
Thanks

It happens whether the VCR is on or off and none of the channels work through the VCR either.
I have been told it may be a problem with the tuner, and the reason I am getting anything at all is that there is a booster in the VCr
