Ipod 'scrubber' not working

hi. recently got a video ipod. iv noticed that the scrubber function doesnt work on the videos i have copied over- it just resets the video to the beginning. it has worked once before on one video (1st time i tried), but not on 4 different videos i have copied over. the videos are tv episodes that have been downloaded (legally!) and then converted to ipod format using winavi ipod converter. could it be this program thats blocking the capability from scrubbing/fast-forwarding?? Thanks
