I know you can add internal hard drives for computers but what about laptops? Is it possible to have additional memory added? I have a sony vaio laptop. Many thanks.

I use this site:

It scans your system and tells you what memory you can buy - they guarantee compatibility. I bought from them, it arrived next day and the instructions were very clear.
It may not be the cheapest, but you will certainly know what to look for!

It is very easy! I am well past pension age and in no way a 'techie' so was very nervous. But so proud of myself when I did it.
Less than ten minutes from start to finish. But I did read the instructions very carefully before I started.

You do need to be clear about the difference between memory and hard drives though, it is very easy as the others have said to add more memory, however this will not give you more space to save files/pictures/music etc. Changing the hard drive in a laptop is trickier as you need to be able to copy everything from the old to the new because you can't (usually) add a second drive.
Some laptops are not that easy to install extra RAM into (i.e. there isn't an access panel on the bottom of the laptop, you have to stripthe laptop down), have a look at:-

Put in your model etc and it should tell you.
