Amount of pixels on a HD-ready plasma TV

I'm looking at buying an HD-ready plasma TV.

What pixel specification shoudl I be looking at? I know the adage "the more, the better", but what is an affordable, acceptable amount?

for a 'true' hd picture you need 1920x1080 pixels as true hd is displayed at 1080p(progressive ie all the image is scanned at once).my tv only has 1366x766 pixels so is only capable of 720p or 1080i(ie it scans one half of the picture followed by the other half but as this happens many times a second you wont notice!).

1080p tv's may not really be necessary as sky only broadcast at 720p or 1080i but if you watch dvds then hd-dvd or blu-ray will play dvds at full 1080p resolution.
