Just wondered if anyone knew of anywhere in the cheshire/stockport/macclesfield areas that you can have your 'home videos's' transferred onto dvd? Have been on internet but they all seem to be down south (ish) unless i'm just crap at searching?
thanks!! : )

They do them near me and charge around 25 per video - so if you have more than one or two to do, it would be cheaper for you to buy a dvd recorder and do it yourself.
Give eBay a go. You tend to do a "Buy it Now" transaction and everything happens via post. I'm sure you'll make a saving, too.

Alternatively, if you have a DVD burner, why not rig up your VCR to your PC and do it yourself. If you've got lots to transfer, you'll save a fortune!

thanks for your help! unfortunately these clever people who do this 'technical' stuff make a fortune out of people like me - cos i am CLUELESS when it comes to rigging up vcr's and dvd's (e.g. if i want to record a programme i just select the channel and leave it taping all night, and then spend half the night trying to find the start ( lol)
25 per video seems a lot, so maybe they can remain as they are : )
