AVG anti virus question

For the last two years when my avg has finished scanning it says "objects scanned 56000"

but for the past three days it says objects scanned 75000


what are the further 20000 objects?

Have you added a hard drive, or maybe there is a CD in your drive?

AVG will scan all devices, not just your "C" drive.

There is no CD in either drive?????

Have you installed any new software - applications or games?

No mattfox, however the other day a piece of cr@p was planted on my computer wwhich was difficult to remove, perhaps being a non techie person I haven't removed it , but where do I look?
