I have just downloaded a nice .ISO file (program) from WinMX but I have no idea what I need to open this file....how do I go about using the prog. I have just downloaded please?

Burn it straight to CD (iso is a cd image).

Hmm now i am stuck again....it has just burned to the CD as the same thing (.ISO file) so i still can't open it....go on then tell me what I've done wrong!

As j2 says, it's an image - you should use your CD burning software to create the cd from this image, and not to simply place the image file on a data cd. If you're using Windows XP, just right click on the ISO file and select "copy this image to CD"
