paint jpgs

I recently got windows 98 reinstalled and my hard drive wiped. My paint program can not save as anything other than bmp. It didn't do this before. Is there anywhere i can get an update to make it be able to save to jpg etc? If so where? thanks!

I could only find this on the Microsoft site but it has to do with Microsoft Paint and Office 97 (some graphics filters from Office 97 upset Paint): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=htt
p://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q162/5/00.asp&NoWebContent=1 If you don't have Office 97 installed, a workaround it to get another graphics package (PaintShop Pro). BTW, I assume you are using the "Save as..." option rather than "Save".
