Recently had a problem on my pc with a virus/trojan program. When I found out I had this, I went into My Computer and started deleting programs that I suspected.

Problem is, I didn't have a clue what I was doing and appear to have deleted my disk drives. Now when I put a CD or game in, nothing happens, whereas before the disc would automatically start.

What have I done, and how do a rectify??? Many thanks.

Brilliant way to fix a computer.

As you did not have a clue what you were doing it is almost impossible to know what you have removed, and for anyone to help you.

You could try a system restore. On the menus will be an option System Restore. See if you can restore the computer to before you began your deletions.

Another option, if you are using Windows XP, and have the original CD, try to do an install where you install Windows over the top of the existing windows.

I think the option is called Repair.
