Plasma is a dead-end technology. I doubt if anyone will be making plasma screens within a couple of years. The advantages of high-brightness and -contrast which they had over LCDs are rapidly becoming eroded, leaving only the disadvantages of higher power consumption, weight, and the difficulty of manufacturing cells small enough to give very high resolutions. There are other technologies in the pipeline which will probably eventually supersede LCD as well.
