If you haven't got it yet, try irfanview at http://www.irfanview.com/ plus the plugins.
Also, the new quicktime player will function in XP.
Realplayer and Microsoft media player cover the majority of media files: .asf, .mp3, .wav, .cda, .mpg, .avi etc etc You must also have the correct codecs to view certain versions of files. The only other media files are .mov which can be viewed with Apple's Quicktime viewer: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
There is also DivX which includes a player and a bunch of codecs. Their are 4 versions of it available but luckily there is a free version, of course your limited with what yoiu can do with it comapred to the other 3. But the codecs are useful.... http://www.divx.com/divx/ click "Download the free DivX Codec/DivX Player bundle" just below the table. There is also another free version that allows you access to other features but it is Adware support by GAIN. A known spyware so its up to which one you use.
you don't need no stinkin' Real Player. I think you can play their stuff with Jetaudio freeware. Muwhahaha. :-)
Answerbok is right. If you think one player for all formats, converting between them and a million other things is too good to be true, you have yet to try jet audio:http://www.cowon.com/eng/product/jetaudio5/about.h
tml only
drawback? - It's not free!
No, it is free! Paid for version just has a few extra features. A bargain. I use version 4, which is why I thought 5 had to be paid for!
Ooh, Ooh Smorodina, mine is freeware too :-)
