Im thinking of changing my ISP from Wandoo / Orange, I have been looking about on the internet and Tiscali seem to be highly recommended. On their website they have an offer where you get 2mb broadband and all uk landline calls for 19.99 a month. Does anyone have any experience of this offer and is this really the true price or are there any hidden charges? If this is the complete price is it worth changing from BT phone also? Thanks in advance
Oh God.......please google search of Tiscali before you change to these people and read up about Tiscali's promises as to what people who have joined them actually get. Just remember if you choose them you are stuck with them for at least a year. Cheap is not always cheerful!
I signed up with Tiscali for 2 meg broadband plus free weekend calls for 14.99 a month and that is what I get with no hidden extras, however you still need your BT line rental
The 19.99 you pay will not include line rental--an additional 11 from BT. Stevie m reckons he gets 2.3mbps for 12.99. This is highly unlikely; if he does an internal speed check it is probably going to be aroud 500kbps.I use Tiscali 's 14.99 1mbps package. When I check the actual speed it is somewhere about 0.98mbps.This ISP always says "ADSL is now connected, speed 2.3mbps", whereas it should say "ADSL......speed UP TO 2.3mbps".But you won't get that with the cheaper deals.
