Hi, I am having a little problem with the computer.
If I restore the computer to a week ago, does anyone know if I lose the music I have already recorded in that time? Thanks.

dont worry you wont loose your music have done it myself many a time if you find that you have lost something that you needed which is highly unlikely anyway you can always uninstal the restore or go forward in time again to when you done the restore (sounds a bit like doctor whos tardis really dosent it)
System restore is excellent, but you should try to resolve the problems you are having, otherwise they are still there, lurking.
back it up first
Hi again just a question to ask ethel if you are still in this thread can you advise me how they still lurk i must admit i have had to use restore quite a few times in the last 3 months as using it b4 that has been very minimall (scusse spelling) have checked the obvious firewall, virus, spyware, every week and everythings ok apart from spyware of course as you always get that and its instantyl removed and do know that most of it is harmless if you are still here can you advise.
And steve I know where you are coming from man in what you say every bit of advise says back it up b4 you do it but really thats not neccisare (sorry cant spell again) as comps are so good these days they just dont lose data it is always there somewhere and as said in my first reply you can always get into the tardis and get back get back(beatles record) to when you come from) anyway had enough beer and brain bashing so need to go to bed now and sleep with my 1000gb g/f and that is the size of her memory (ow sorry must have offended a load of femails (whoops) out there but charlie stubbs is dead and im taking over now oh dear seem to have gone of the subject a bit anyway adious senouretas
knobby - just saw your post.

As you know, deleting or uninstalling anything doesn't physically remove anything from your pc. It just means the space it occupied on your hard drive is available to be written over. This can take a long, long time. So it is still there. Lurking. But hopefully inactive. If your pc is running well, and you continue to run your security regularly you have nothing to worry about.

Every six months or so, I turn off system restore, start my pcs in 'safe mode' and run the security programmes. This makes sure that anything hiding in system restore is also got rid of. But don't get paranoid!

Cheers for that ethel and sorry to waffle on a bit last night......
