I am trying to make document compilation easier than having to enter all details for each document. Is there a way to enter a code, for instance *psu* to insert a standard paragraph into a document? I know autocorrect works to an extent but can be limited on space.

I don't use Word that much to know if there is a menu option to do as you wish but you can certainly do as large an insert as you wish with a Macro. Use the macro recorder to record the text you want to insert, don't forget to add any new paragraphs, formatting etc before you stop recording. You have a number of ways of invoking the macro, you could create an icon on any of your toolbars or assign hot keys to the text when defining the macro. Make sure you save the macro before closing Word
