Near Heathrow just outside the M25 a building has been demolished recently, and the new building has a 3 pipe chimney.
Around these pipes there is a slanted spiral going round it. I say slanted because if something went inside the spiral it would rise and fall as it travelled the loop.
It looks very advanced and complicated.
Any idea what it is for?

I think they are for breaking up wind turbulence around the chimney to prevent any damage

This looks far more substantial and purposeful than that.
I know on single chimneys they have a spiral near the top, but this is a pipe winding its way, not in contact with the inner chimneys.
