I downloaded a movie clip that was in rar. I also downloaded and installed winrar but still the file wouldnt open anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong.

Try downloading an alternative program to open the contents of the RAR file - i.e. Filzip (which is free). If you still have no joy, the movie file within the RAR file is possibly corrupted.

what happened when you tried to extract it ?
also,I strongly suggest scanning with your AV before opening as it unusual for clips to be rar'ed.

Are you sure you are using WinRar correctly? As Mattk has already mentioned, you need to extract the file/s first.

Just click on your clip, and WinRar will automatically open up.Make sure your clip is highlighted, then click on Extract.A box will open up asking for a destination, and once you have decided where you want to save the clip, click on ok.Your clip will be extracted to that location.All you do then is go to the destination and you should find your extracted clip, but it will now have a different icon (depending on your default player).
