Is there a way to find out which network a mobile is currently connected to? I mean other peoples phones. I've just got free calls to all Orange mobiles from my landline because I've just gone to Orange as my broadband supplier, and now I want to know which of my mates use Orange or otherwise without ringing them up to find out! Thanks

thanks K appreciate your answer but the list doesn't tell me if someone has migrated from a network to another and taken their number with them. cheers anyway
There was some sort of consumer complaint about this. Mobile companies charge different amounts for calls to different networks, but there's no way of knowing how much you will pay before dialling, given that you can migrate numbers between networks. My number is 07866 which shows as Orange on the link above, but I've since moved to Vodafone.

So no, there's no way of knowing.
