Work Menu in Word 97

Have found this mysterious item in Word97. Adding a file to it means that you can call up that file at any time - however I'm a bit reluctant to use it because there doesn't seem to be any way of deleting items off it (or indeed of deleting the menu itself.) Can't find it in Help. Any ideas on how to use it?
