Tomtom Go 510 Sat Nav

Any one that owns a tomtom go 510 sat nav can you please help ?
When selecting navigate to > favourites, providing I have 12 or less favourites stored, the screen shows the list of favourites with the option to go back or find at the bottom of the screen. But if I have more than 12 favourites stored The screen shows 2 favourites + the keyboard, as though it is going straight to the find screen after selecting the favourites icon. I have reported this to the technical department at tomtom site and they say that if you have more than 12 favourites stored it is quicker to find your favourite using the keyboard rather than scroll down a list, so the screen automatically goes to the find screen after selecting favourites.
Does this happen to anybody else or are they just fobbing me off ?
