ipod nano and cd's

every cd i have copied across to my ipod nano "jumps", every track seems to stick for a couple of seconds every minute.... very annoying, does anyone know why this is happening and how i can get around it? (cd's play normally in my cd player)

Goto edit->preferences in iTunes and choose the importing tab under advanced, and tick the bottom box for error checking. Rip another CD and see if that fixes it.

Also have a look to see what else is running when you are ripping/burning your tracks.
