Hidden camera's

Recently a hidden camera was installed in a school where i clean. I was not aware or informed about the installation of it. It was put there to catch a theif, who has now been caught and sacked, this is how i'am aware of the camera. I am not sure if the camera remains, how many cameras are actually installed or how long they have been present. Are they allowed to do this without my knowledge. Do i have a right to know where the hidden cameras are.

they wouldn't be very hidden if people knew where they were, would they....

as long as they are not in changing rooms or toilets there is no problem
