E-mail for beginners
5 Answers
I have Broadband and Microsoft Outlook for my e-mail. I want to add two new mailboxes for my wife and daughter. BT can only do this by using the updated Outlook Express 6 which I don't like, and is cumbersome to switch boxes with. Can anyone recomend an easy provider who will give me two new mailboxes that are compatable, and simple to use for my wife and daughter, either of who are especially PC-friendly. Thanks.

My understanding was that you can have multiple a/c's under the primary account with telecom. If this is still the case, create the a/c's for your wife and daughter and as long as you use Outlook XP or 2003, which provides POP3 access then you should be able to set Outlook up with different profiles the three of you...
It's nonsense that multiple BT email addresses wouldn't work with Microsoft Outlook.
The people on the BT helpline simply meant that they would only help you/explain how to do it if you were using Microsoft Outlook Express.
There are so many different email programs available that you can't expect a service provider's helpdesk to give an explanation for each and every one of them. Mind you, Microsoft Outlook is extremely common, so they could provide help with that.
It's a bit like a garage/petrol station who will happily sell petrol to anyone, but will only provide advoice on fuel consumption if you have a Fiat. There's nothing wrong with using their petrol in your Volkswagen, it's just that they can't give you any information on its fuel system.
