I'm knew to video editing but was recommended Vegas 7.0
I've been having a play about with it and created a video thats about 17mins long but when I rendered it, it has come out at 3.7GB!!! I've been looking thru and cant see any settings that I can change to get this down to a more sensible amount. Any ideas?

In what format is your finished video ? How did you create the unedited video - From camcorder ? I have not used Vegas software but 3.7GB for a 17 minute video is ridiculous.

I rendered it to .avi
It was video clips i've downloaded (a mixture of .wmv and .mpeg). i basically just put them one after the other and then added some mp3s as the soundtrack.

the res is set at 720x480 i think, but i cant see anywhere to change it?
The smallest sized video compilations can be produced using Windows Moviemaker 2, in wmv format. Why not try that ?
