My TV had green patches on it so as it was 12 years old we bought a new one, low and behold there they were again so thought it must bt Sky+ box. Screamed at Sky who gave us a new box and blow me down, green patches again. What the hell are they and how do you get rid of them? Anyone know?

If you have something with a magnet in it near the TV, such as a radio or CD player (speakers have magnets), the magnetic field will cause purity problems. Try moving speakers etc.and see if the problem goes away. You may have to switch off the TV for an hour to completely remove the bad purity. This is because the degaussing circuit in the TV only works when it is cold. Hope that helps.
Mike t bike is so right (nearly ryhems dont it) had the same prob with my tv and realised that I had a big subwoofer speaker under the tv that was causing that prob, its not the sky box but it could be caused by a few other things as well, one being interfearance (scuse spelling) in your leads that connect to each device try moving them around but that is probbaly not the prob it is more than likely that it is speakers near your tv that is causing your prob

Many thanks to you both, I have speakers about 3 feet away from TV so will move them and see.

Well moving the speakers into the next room didn't work. I'm not sure what you mean knobby, should I just wiggle the leads about a bit?.. We do have a TV signal booster box besides the telly, could this be the cause?
if you have a lead be it co axiel or scart etc going to your tv that is not shielded it can pick up inteferance of other leads that are near or next to it so the best way to aviod this is try to keep all ariel or scart leads away from any other leads I know that is easier said than done and yes sometimes if you give them a little wiggle that can help belive it or not possibly as well it could be something to do with the signal booster have you trie switching it of.
and anyway if you move your speakers into another room how the hell you gonna hear them lollll... you didnt think of that one did you..........
