Is there a freebee program that I can use? That I can make my external drive password secure I keep a lot of my private documents and bank bits on it

I would totally ignore the above, it's totally unsecure.

It works very well, and is very secure.

If you are going to encrypt your data to keep it secure (from prying eyes?) be aware that all the data will be processed using your password and will then be saved in a form which is unique to you and if you ever forget your password then you will probably never ever be able to decode your data again.
Be very carefull about storing your password someway you will never lose it!!

Thanks for all your replies have down loaded a free copy of HandyBits EasyCrypto from www.handybits.com it works ok I think
