fauly 50" sony television
5 Answers
Bit of a long one but hopefully someone here can give me some good advise so here goes .
I bought a Sony television from an internet company based in Birmingham. The delivery drivers insisted on opening the box to make sure it was the correct TV and it was undamaged. I signed for it and they left.
About two weeks later I came down in the morning and noticed the green power light was displayed on the front of the TV. There was no picture/sound. I tried switching the TV on at the set and nothing happened. I also tried the buttons on the remote control but nothing. Once the TV had been unplugged and plugged back in it worked fine. The same thing happened a week later. I contacted the company who I bought the TV from explained the intermittent fault and they were not very helpful at all. They would not supply another TV but they said this one could be repaired under the manufactures warranty. So after I finally struggled to get this 50" rear projection in the back of my car I took it over to the authorised repairer (approx 25 mile round trip) it was away for 2 and half weeks. They replaced the bulb as that is what they believed to be causing the fault. However, the same problem occurred three days later. I contacted the company who I bought the TV from and they arranged to collect it and repair it. It was returned to me two days ago and the same thing has occurred!! - They said there was 'no fault found!'
I am reluctant to telephone the company again due to their lack of interest but I do not want a faulty TV either. I have also explained all this to Sony customer care.
Any advice as to what the fault could be or what you would do would be much appreciated. I hope this makes some sense to someone!
Thank you!
