Can anyone Recomend a good mpeg-2 splitting program. I need a splitter that can split to the exact frame, all the ones that i've tried so far aren't precise enough(they leave a couple of frames on at the start and at the end of the file, leaving the previous scene for a fraction of a second). cheers

VirtualDub will split an mpeg file to the exact frame. get it from here http://www.virtualdub.org/
I would deffinately suggest TMPGEnc. it is a great program for doing nearly anything to mpeg and avi files. however, i dont know if u converted that file from a different format to MPEG 2. it is suggested u only use the mpeg splitter that comes with tmgenc if u converted the file with tmpgenc. u can get tmpgenc: from http://www.click-now.net/downloads09.htm

Thankyou both for the answers. Phantaxus-If I use Virtualdub, I've managed to set the offsets but how do you save the resulting file as mpeg-2? It seems to want to convert it to an AVI file - Am I doing something wrong? Ben8987 - The only way I have managed to get a precise cut is to use the project wizard and encode the whole file again(this takes an age on my pc!). If I use the cut & merge feature, in the mpeg tools section, I get the odd frames either way. A further question you may be able to help me with - When I use the multiplex feature I always get an alert box telling me that x amout of packets have caused a buffer underflow, and that the resulting file may not play - any ideas how to stop this? Thanks to u both :)
