Approx how many photos can fit on a 256mb SD card? Thanks.

Firstly, more complex scenes take up more memory than pictures with solid blocks of colour. e.g. a picture taken of the faces in a crowd at a football match will take up more space than a picture of a chess board. (It's to do with the way that jpeg compression works).
Secondly, it depends upon the number of megapixels that are available from the camera.
Thirdly, it will depend upon the resolution chosen from within the the camera's menu settings.
For guideline figures for the number of pictures that you might expect from a camera using standard resolution, see here:
