It's far from that I'm afraid.
Main issues:
Macbook Pro:
aluminium case
proper graphics card
illuminated keys
'original' style keyboard
Macbook:
plastic case
'new' style keyboard (feels the same though)
much cheaper built-in graphics
in short, the graphics card is the main let down -- you can drive a larger screen with the MBP, and it'll let you do more graphics-intense things (or at least with less stuttering). And the illuminated keyboard is nice for working in darker conditions, if you like that sort of thing.
if you're a regular consumer the MB should do. if you require more power (graphics wise especially), then get the MBP.
(I've got a MBP :))

the plastic case means you get a slightly better wifi reception, but nothing huge. the alu case is great because it looks good/more professional.
oh, and the latch if different too. the MB has a cool magnetic latch -- you just pull the thing apart to open it, and it's held shut by the magnet.
the MBP has a regular latch with a little button you have to press to open up.
the MBP will also have more USB ports too, as well as full DVI output (MB only has a mini-DVI port)
the MBP also has a fw800 port (I find it useful), and an Expresscard port.
