LCD TV Problem

My LCD TV (about 3 years old) comes on for a second with sound and picture but then after about half a second goes blank (or black even though the default screen is usually blue) but the audio still continues to come through. I don't think it's the actual screen that's broken as it does come on for a second and when no input is plugged in (ie: I take out the ariel lead) the default message "No Input" comes up. Anyone know anything about LCD TVs - Is it fixable? will it be expensive?

Do you have other equipment hooked-up to the TV, via scart sockets ?

yes, dvd freeview box and vhs but they all worked fine before alongside each other. I've tried removing all and having the ariel straight into the tv and the same thing happens
Right, so at present you have the Aerial lead going directly to the tv aerial socket, with nothing else connected. You say you have sound but no picture. Presumably you have tried accessing the TV menu screen ? If so, and still a blank screen, what effect does switching off at the mains socket for a couple of minutes have ?

When i try and access the tv on screen menue I can't get anything (screen remains black) and I've tried unplugging the tv at the mains and leaving it for a few hours and nothing.

I can't understand why it the picture will appear for a half a second if the screen is broken.
Seems likely that there could be a dry joint somewhere in the circuit. You will need to get a TV repair man to have a look at it.
