I keep getting a notification pop-up, to install Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474) update.

What is this, and is it important enough to download, if it is not how do I get rid of it from popping up please?

If you have a genuine copy of windows installed then it will pose no threat to your system. If you don't have a genuine copy installed then do not install it.
