Would someone please give me some info on binoculars for amateur astronomy .Have been looking on e-bay 10x25 with built in digital camera. Would appreciate any information on what to buy just for basic things such as planets and stars. Thanks

I personally would go for 50mm objective lens, with a magnification of 10. To steady the viewing I would also invest in a tripod, as the higher the magnification, the narrower the field of view.
However, you could drop down to 40mm objective, and 8x magnification, though I'd still prefer to use a tripod with those.
I'd forget the itegrated digital camera, that is nothing more than a gimmick, and invest instead in a pair with good quality lenses (and a tripod mount adaptor).
