PLS HELP - Norton Internet Security 2007
3 Answers
I have just loaded Norton Internet Security 2007 on my computer. All seems to be ok EXCEPT: when I turn my computer on "Application Launcher - unable to load configuration" message appears? (only option is to "OK" it) Also, the computer is really really slow for the first few minutes.
It takes ages for the Norton logo to appear in the bar at the bottom right.
ANYONE KNOW WHATS UP????
Big big thanks in advance, Becki :-)

Some people may have different advice for you but my advice is uninstall norton with the proper uninstall tool. Thats right, Norton is so crappy that it doesn't even properly uninstall its self. Once you have removed it, install other software. There is a ton of free software available for download. There is AVG, Avast Antivirus, Ghostwall firewall, and several others. By the way, what operating system are you using? One more thing, Download these new programs before uninstalling Norton so that you do not have to go online with no security.
I agree, get you money back from Norton, its rubbish.
Ive been using Avast & Zonealarm, and i do occasional scans with AdAware & Spybot S&D. And i have no problems ever with that combination.
In this day and age you shouldnt have to pay for computer protection, let alone pay for one that slows down your computer and allows tonnes of problems through.

Problems with Norton can normally be attributed to where you bought the copy.
if you bought it from the shop i/e PC World then take it back, use the Norton guarentee on the back to get your money back.
However, if you bought it from Ebay or the like then you probably bought a pre released version with limited function (as i did years a go) A lot of these go on sale on ebay for cheap and they are beta versions on disk, the done have most of the functionallity of the final version and can sometimes fail to even work.
As i said if its from the shop though, just take it back.
Also i agree Norton blows goats, theres plenty of other non system hogging software around.
