web cam problem

i have a logitech quickcam messenger camera installed--win xp--initially it seemed to work fine--recently although it is working it regularly shuts down and restarts my computer--it is the camera i am sure--since i have isolated it to that--i have uninstalled and reinstalled plus tried driver updates from logitech but problem persists--can't think of anything that has changed recently that would cause this--it may have only started since i switched to broadband--tiscali--tho i can't remember for sure--also no set time after camera switched on 'til it restarts comp--seems random--any ideas

Is your copy of windows up to date? I can't remember the specifics but they released a patch some time ago to fix vulnerabilities with webcams. Perhaps this will help.
