pc issue

sometimes when i'm on the net (new internet explorer) my pc goes mad and repetedly opens up new tabs and won't stop?? then i try task manager and there's something running called search glow(pretty sure thats the name....definitely something glow) and i can't do anything? pretty vague i know, but is this my pc or something i'm doing wrong??? cheers

Search_glow is part of Microsoft's Windows Live Toolbar package.

You can remove this component by going to the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstalling Windows Live Toolbar and Desktop Search.

Maybe in the future Microsoft will release a fix.

Unlikely even one of microsofts offerings would result in what you are saying

What exactly is the name?
do you have up-to-date virus & adware scanning?

if not get some

start with (google these)
free avg download
and
ad-aware (careful how you spell this
and
spybot search and destroy

scan your system .... go from there ... get back if nothing is found

Don't dispute that it should be part of the toolbar ... I disagree that it's job is to open many windows ...

that sounds more like the job of spyware ... (which may or may not have replaced the original file)

S doesn't say which site(s) or what's coming up in the windows - some of the less "nice" sites do this also

either way the solution is to scan the pc for nasties
