Firstly, if we are talking pre-XP then there are no problems as long as you have the product key which comes with the disk and your operating system is compatible.
However, when you install office on XP it asks you to activate the program online. I know this because I literally did this last week as my mother and I both bought laptops from Dell but mine had office on it. When I installed it on hers it asked me to activate however it immediately recognised that it had been activated before. It then said if you were getting this message in error then ring this number (it will tell you) and the person I spoke to gave me an activation key. If they ask why its being activated again say you formatted your hard drive and want to put office back on.
Hope this helps
One to watch for is that XP activations, Office etc.. are based on the hardware inside your machine. The code that is generated by the software is created by the contents of your PC. If you phone Microsoft with 2 different request codes for the same Office discs, they could possibly be awkward and refuse to issue a new number. If you reformatted, your hardware stays the same and so would the activation code so there would be no problem. They could also get stroppy about the licence agreement, you son bought a single licence to use office on one PC. Again Microsoft might refuse because of this licencing issue. I am not trying to put a damper on the issue, just pre-warning you that Microsoft could be awkward.
Yeah I have to be honest - when I rang up there were no questions asked I literally activated the same disk twice on two different laptops within half hour of each other. Hope they give you the activation key, and remember, as they give you it, write it down on paper as well as in the box on the screen as it can come in handy.
Yes, I think you can install Microsoft office on the personal computer. But you should also care before installing Microsoft office on your PC. First of all, you should have to make sure that there is no virus in CDs. In case, you found the virus in CDs then you should not use this Microsoft office cd. If you have any other problem then you can read this blog for more learning. https:/ /increa sebusin essdigi tally.w eebly.c om/
