Virgin / NTL

In the past couple of days, whilst watching tv via Virgin cable, an information 'strap' has appeared at the bottom of my screen telling me to press the yellow button to access the on demand information. Does anybody else have this ? I've tried the various buttons such as cancel / tv / back etc but to no avail.
Can it be got rid of ?
If this is something that Virgin have uploaded and cannot be removed then they will be getting an invite first thing to cancel my subscription !

I don't have that. Try turning the box off at the plug, and turn it back on again.

If that doesn't work, call virgin.
