I have been having a lot of problems with my PC recently. It freezes all the time when I am online and I have to constantly reboot it. The cursor arrow has also been playing up and is stopping and starting and going slow when being dragged...so frustrating. I am also getting daft wee messages when I reboot my computer, some fault or another. I have AOL Broadband. System resources are 38% free...could this be something to do with it? Or does my pc have a 'bug' present? Help would be so appreciated as I don't know that much about PC's!

the "cursor arrow" or mouse pointer, is seemingly freezing and moving in a slow stuttery movement yes? Sounds very much like CPU spikes as the CPU is being used at high levels - many reasons but usually a) you're trying to do too much on your machine at once/run too many programs - bear in mind that internet connectibity is pretty resource intensive and your machine may struggle to cope with doing too much at once b) you have little free memory in the machine and need to increase the memory c) the CPU is an old, slow CPU. Do you know what CPU you have? how much memory you have? either or both of these can be replaced if necessary at little cost. also please tell us what operating system you're using, and whether you have other applications running at the same time. Re: the daft wee messages - could be related but you'd have to tell us what the messages are.
It's very likely that it's the lack of system rescources you have, idealy you shouldn't let it get below 75%. Try running MSCONFIG from the run command in the program manager, select startup and deselect some of the programs that start upon boot-up. Be careful though as some may be essential for you're machine to run properly .
Download the latest drivers for your video card: for some bizarre reasons all manner of stupid problems can occur because of video drivers. Come back when this is done, and we'll go from there.... :-)
