How to bypass number with held on phone
12 Answers
I have recently added the "refuse anonymous caller" to my home phone. I was getting numerous calls from sales people trying to sell me everything from insurance to timeshare. Only trouble is, my elderly mother is ex-directory and everytime she tries to call me, because she is ex-d her number is a with held number and she doesn't get through to me. She gets a message explaining that the "number she is calling refuses to accept anonymous/withheld numbers". Does anyone know of a prefix she can dial before calling my number that would allow her to overcome/bypass this?

Some phones you can ban just the numbers this might be a better option. But you will still get the ones that are not registered
I'm sure there is a web site that you fill a form in all rubbish calls and post data will be taken away.
I'm sure the 1470 wont work but its worth trying.

I was getting this trouble, call centres etc
a few calls everyday and sometimes silent calls
and then I heard about the phone preference service
you'll find it on the web,and it was a salesman that put me on to it, he was tryng to sell me talk talk, and I flipped
saying I was having enough of phones
they take your details all on line( you don't speak to anybody)it takes a while to activate, but I have been 18mths
now nuisance call free
hope this helps
