unlocked phones accepting three/3 sim cards?

I am fed up with my handset with three and want a change. i like the lg chococlate phones but will an unlocked one accept my three sim ? i think a three sim needs to go in a 3g phone? a kg800 chocolate isnt a 3g phone i believe? ??

As far as i know an unlocked phone will except any network... so all Sims from any provider will work

Ignore the last answer, you answered your own question correctly yourself.
Yes,an unlocked phone will accept sim cards from other providers but only from matching technology.
The LG chocolate is a 2g and will not therefore accept 3g cards.
