I have a socket for the main telephone line & also another socket that the pc & another phone goes into. I have a filter on this one. This is not an extension, but a proper telephone socket with an ordinary phone conected to it. I bought a digital cordless twin telephone but after connecting everything up, I found that there was a terrible buzzing on the line & I could not hear the callers. Do I need a filter for the other socket also as suggested by the seller??? My other ordinary phone worked perfect on this socket without a filter TIA

I assume you have broadband and you are talking about bb filters. You need a filter on every appliance connected to your phone system.
