how do i record freeview on to my dvd recorder when i have freeview built in to my tv

Assuming your tv has only one freeview tuner, and your dvd recorder does not have a digital tuner:

You will have to set the dvd to record either AV1, AV2, EXT1 or EXT2 as the channel, and make sure the tv is switched on to the digital channel you wish to record.

The AV or EXT depends on the way you have set everything up.
