Itunes problem?

I am not a complete novice and thought i knew my way around Itunes but today i have done a playlist for a friends party tonight and itunes wont let me place the tunes in a different order and it wont even let me shuffle, so unless i sort it her party is going to be in some sort of alphabetical order which will do my head in, can anyone help?

I can still do it in other playlists and i have an hour, helllllllllllllllllllp

As far as I can remember, you need to hit one of the bars at the top... like artist, song or the number of the song.
