DVDRW drives..which one?

I've had a few problems with combi drives in the past. can anyone help me with an outlet or make/model of a reliable/good DVDRW at a reasonable price in the uk?

Your wording is a little ambiguous; do you want a DVD burner or a dvd player/cd burner combined?

If the former then I can only recommend the model I am using the Pioneer DVR 107 which is a 8x and has been no bother at all................on the second part I am afraid you will have to wait for someone else as I have never had to use one.

There are number of different formats +r -r etc try to go for something about 8x(speed) that offers both +r and -r and you probably wont go to wrong. I have seen an article somewhere that suggested that DVDR drives that supported multilayer should be on the market by the end of the year. The present batch of drives single layer and store about 4.7gb multilayer discs have a higher capacity. most commercial dvd's are multilayer which is why when you try to back the up you have to loose sone of the features(languages, subtitles etc) to make them fit on the lower capacity drives.
