Phone 1571 Problem

I've got a phone with a 1571 (voicemail messages) button.

The button has a green light which is supposed to flash when there is a message waiting.

This worked with BT but I now have Virgin Media cable and the light flashes even when there aren't any voicemail messages waiting.

Virgin Media haven't been able to help.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

As far as i know 1571 only works with a BT line.

1571 works with Virgin Media - pressing the 1571 button connects you to your Virgin Media voicemail.

However, the messages waiting light doesn't work with Virgin Media.
