I have recently bought a TV on ebay and been done by the seller by not delivering the goods. They wont reply to email or mobile requests. Have lodged a claim with paypal. How successful are they at getting your money back.
Present them with all the facts, copies of e-mails etc and you should be OK. If you can find details of previous bad deals by the seller it is all good evidence.
I was in a similar position last year and I was refunded 600 in about 14 days so I was very happy
If the seller had the 500 payment protection logo you are guaranteed to get your money back.
The seller will have to prove that the television was received - by providing a tracking number. If he cannot do that, you will get the money back very quickly.
If there was no protection logo, it may be more difficult. You will only get back any money that he has in his paypal account. If he has nothing, you wil get nothing. You will then have to pursue it through the small claims court.
Thanks for your answers. i have noted that they had payment protection for 150 so hopefully i will get that which is nearly half my outlay. I will wait and see. Tks.
