replaced power supply on pc.now pc not recognising HD

hey.
Ive just replaced an atx power pack that blew out..when i switched it back on ,evrything is working,cd drive,hard drive is turning.cables are correct..but there is no beep .and nothing coming up on my monitor..it all seems to be ticking over ok.but possibly no communication between hd and mobo.i was thinking it might be something on the mobo..is there a reset jumper or something like this?
I replaced a 400w sumvision atx power supply with a 200w viglen power supply if that might be a reason.

The 200w power supply you have fitted isn't powerful enough.....unplug the cd drive or remove any pci cards that aren't needed and try again.If it boots then thats the problem and you need to buy a supply thats 350w or more.

that was the first thing i triede..bootin it with just the mobo plug an the hd power on.it wouldnt work..i took the ram out too try and get a reaction from the mobo but still nothing..fans,hd,disk drive all functioning but no booting..so i shud buy a 400 w atx .power supply?.an exact replacement perhaps?

Hmmmmm now do we know that the 200w supply is ok....if you are sure it is a working unit then try booting without the cpu in an see if you get any beep codes.....thing is if the original power supply blew then what blew it.Dodgy motherboard more than likely.If you get no joy without the cpu in then i would suggest finding another motherboard that your cpu will fit and try that but i have known a faulty motherboard to kill the cpu aswell.Time to start swapping parts till you find the culprit.Good luck.
