How do I save my computer from the grips of Perfectnav? Everytime I go to a URL that is incorrect, or even sometimes if it is correct, it goes to a website called www.perfectnav.com. This is not only irritating because it delays me going to websites I want to visit, but it opens another perfectnav widow when it is exited. Recently it has taken to appearing when i want to access my yahoo email account, which as you can imagine is fairly important! How do I go about getting rid of it? My father's old win95 computer just gets a windows error message when you go to a false URL. Mine is winXP ruing Internet explorer 6.0. The problem still happens using the AOL and Kazaa browsers. Thanks.

Tools tab / internet options / Advanced 'When searching' choose 'Do not search from address bar' this may help.
ps i just successfully killed my copy of navexcel witha 'adaware6' - the newest free version, there were 6 bad registry keys. First remove navhelper in Add remove programs OR, delete the navexcel folder in Program files and let adaware6 do the rest. 'worked fine'
I have a friend who had problems with perfectnav and I found an uninstall program from the Vendor themselves for her. Link to the download page is below. http://www.perfectnav.com/uninstall.cfm Note that removing perfectnav MAY disable kazaa 2.6 too but that is most likely where the perfectnav problem you have came from in the first place.

I uninstalled Kazaa, and perfectnav, and all such programs from my computer and cleaned up with adaware and then delted manually all related files that remained. This seem to have done the trick. I now run WinMX which is much better and doesn't come with any spyware.
