why is the image on the lcd camera screen not an exact copy of the photo i have had developed at tesco...it appears to have cropped the top and sides so on some group shots bits are missing... is this a digital thing or something im doing wrong..many thanks

I think you are saying that the tesco photo's do not show what you can see on the lcd screen, the lcd shows what you took, the photo has been printed to show a 6x4 or 7x5 and some has been cropped to fit the paper size, only way round this is to have your own printer and use 7x5 paper but print as 6x4 which will probably show all you took, this is not limited to digital photos it happened with film cameras as well .

The screen on your camera is just a guide, and not precisely what the image looks like. Colours etc. will be off too.

many thanks for your replies. i returned to tesco and was informed that selecting '6*4' will crop the image but by selecting '6*4 length of images'(this is another option on their processing equipment) you do get a photo equal to the lcd image on the camera. many thanks for help. dancer
